Happy Summer! It's almost time to "hang ten" as we begin a new school year at Layer Elementary! We are excited to welcome our "surfers" to campus for the 2026-2027 school year! We'll be embracing our beach theme as we "Catch the WAVE and ride to success at Layer!"

Please read below for some important Back-to-School information. Our Layer Link will be sent each Saturday morning at 9:00a.m. throughout the year so you can stay connected to our campus happenings! This platform, ParentSquare, will be the primary way you will receive school information. Be sure to keep your email address and phone number current in Skyward! Please be aware that Skyward is updating and schedules are still being configured. Teacher assignments will be official on Wednesday, August 5.

We are extremely proud to be an "A" rated school again for the 25-26 school year! We have been named a "FLDOE School of Excellence" and we are a Top 5 Elementary School in Seminole County!

We want to shout out Mrs. Artranise Wright, our incredible Assistant Principal! She has enhanced Layer for seven and a half years…and she is ready for her next adventure as the AP at Midway Elementary! Her sparkle, dedication, and knowledge will be missed!

To celebrate Mrs. Wright one last time, ALL FAMILIES are invited to a “Pop Up Party” on Monday, July 13th from 3:00-3:45p.m. in the Front Foyer of the school! Thank you for popping by to show her your love!

The SCPS Dividend Application is open for the 2026-2027 school year!

In order to volunteer for any event at Layer, including being a chaperone on field trips; you MUST be an approved dividend with a current year application submitted.

Behind every great school is a team of amazing volunteers. We appreciate all the helping hands that will continue to make the magic happen in this upcoming school year! "Catch the Wave" with Layer!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
