Principal's Message

Happy Almost May! We are 1 week away from the last month of school and we are hoping to make every minute count as we support the learning of your child! We have busy weeks ahead and we appreciate your constant support! Please note that Quarter 4 Progress Reports are now available under Family Access in Skyward.

We are continuing state testing in the upcoming weeks, and we know our students will shine! Please help us by making sure your child has a good breakfast, has good sleep, is at school on time, and is encouraged by you! We believe in each of them and are excited to celebrate their achievement & growth at our "Carnival and Snow Cone" incentive! Ask your child for their scores & the number of tickets they've earned for this event.

As always, please let us know if you have questions, feedback, or celebrations.

Class Placements for Next Year!

Many families have asked about providing input about their child's placement for the 2026-20267 school year. Our leadership team and current teachers help thoughtfully place students, but we value your input as well.

We have created a Google Form for any family to provide us details about how your child learns best. If you would like to give us insight (without using teacher's names), you can your input on the link below by Monday, May 11th.

Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year is now open! As a reminder, SCPS is currently in our Controlled Open Enrollment Window as well. This allows students from other counties or other areas to apply to attend a school outside of their zoned school...spread the word that we want more families at Layer!

Attendance Matters!

Please send in your excuse notes for absences or tardies to LRES_attendance@myscps.us or log into your Family Skyward account. Please be sure your doctor's & excuse notes are in within two weeks of the absence so they can be entered properly! Excuse notes need to explain the family emergency or if your child is sick to be excused. After 10 written/emailed parent notes, doctor notes are required.

Pride Expectations

PRIDE Expectations with PBIS!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
