Principal's Message

What a fun week at Layer! Also, we have had a great start to our Spring Book Fair this week and we look forward to being open on Monday-Friday next week! Thank you to our incredible PTA for making our family night and "Travel the Universe" a success!

Congratulations to Layer's Dividends of the Year!

Dividend of the Year- Tatianna Estevez

Congratulations to our Dividend of the Year, Mrs. Tatianna Estevez! She is a positive human who is dedicated to support Layer in many ways! She is a member of our PTA, she supports classrooms, she is a RAP mentor, she helps with Lucky’s Locker, she supports with our food pantry, and she always brings the Layer Hype! We appreciate all that you do for our community Tatianna!

Youth Dividend of the Year- Olivia Spalthoff

Way to go to our Youth Dividend of the Year, Olivia Spalthoff! She supports so many Layer events with a smile, after attending Winter Springs High School all day! We appreciate her willingness to work with students and help wherever needed as part of our team!

Senior Dividend of the Year- Dona Zrust

Congratulations to Dona Zrust, our Senior Dividend of the Year! She jumps in constantly to support our Media Center! From shelving books, setting up for special projects, and helping with inventory, we are grateful for her dedication!

Class Placements for Next Year!

Many families have asked about providing input about their child's placement for the 2026-20267 school year. Our leadership team and current teachers help thoughtfully place students, but we value your input as well.

We have created a Google Form for any family to provide us details about how your child learns best. If you would like to give us insight (without using teacher's names), you can your input on the link below by Monday, May 11th.

Attendance Matters!

Please send in your excuse notes for absences or tardies to LRES_attendance@myscps.us or log into your Family Skyward account. Please be sure your doctor's & excuse notes are in within two weeks of the absence so they can be entered properly! Excuse notes need to explain the family emergency or if your child is sick to be excused. After 10 written/emailed parent notes, doctor notes are required.

Pride Expectations

PRIDE Expectations with PBIS!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
