Principal's Message

We have been celebrating so much at Layer over the last few weeks! From hitting our Fun Run Goal with exciting prizes, to new clubs beginning, and seeing teamwork with activities like the Black History Month events! We are super proud of the work that our students, teachers, and staff do each day. Students are learning and practicing great citizenship as we prepare them for the future.

Please help us prioritize safety as well! Students should not be dropped off until 8:05a.m. each morning. Supervision begins when the arrival bell rings. In addition, as you are in car line, we appreciate you not being on your phone so everyone can keep all students safe as they transition on and off campus.

As always, please let us know if you have questions, feedback, or celebrations. We appreciate all of the support and we know we will continue strong as we achieve in Spring!

Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts

Please join us at the Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts on Saturday and Sunday, March 7th and 8th! It is one of Seminole County's largest Art Festivals and is FREE to enjoy! There will be music, food, craft vendors, plenty of art from local Orlando artists, and best of all...our own Layer artists will have a display in the Elementary Student Art Tent! We would love your support of our talented artists and can't wait for all of the fun!

Address: Colonial Town Park, Lake Mary Florida (950 Market Promenade Avenue, Lake Mary, Florida)
Hours: Saturday, March 7 (9am-5pm) and Sunday, March 8 (10am-4pm)
*There may be a fee for the event parking 

Student tents can be found on Arbor Park Lane, Lake Mary, Florida. Judging begins at 5pm.

Field Day is only 1 month away! We need a lot of volunteers to bring this amazing event. Please help us by volunteering below!

8:30am-11:00am- Set up equipment & VPK, Pre-K, 3rd, 4th, 5th grade Field Day

Attendance Matters!

Please send in your excuse notes for absences or tardies to LRES_attendance@myscps.us or log into your Family Skyward account. Please be sure your doctor's & excuse notes are in within two weeks of the absence so they can be entered properly! Excuse notes need to explain the family emergency or if your child is sick to be excused. After 10 written/emailed parent notes, doctor notes are required.

Pride Expectations

PRIDE Expectations with PBIS!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
