Principal's Message

Our Layer Community is AWESOME! Thank you for your support of our PTA Fundraiser! We appreciate your generous donations that will help provide enriching programs for our students and help us update our Layer marquee! The new electronic one has been ordered and will be installed in April! We achieved the overall goal by raising over $22,000!

Please be sure to scroll all the way through "The Link" since it is packed with tons of information. Our goal is to communicate so you can stay plugged in with us.

Please let us know if you have questions, suggestions, or needs! We LOVE having your students as part of our Layer Family!

School Information:

Friendly Safety Reminders

We need all of our Layer stakeholders to help us prioritize keeping our students safe at school and focused on learning! Please review the following reminders:

  • Students should not be bringing toys to school! There have been MANY trading cards and small toys lately that are getting in the way of great learning!

  • Please remind your students that if they "see something, say something!" We review integrity often, but we want our students to know there are many trusted adults across our campus who can help!

  • Candy and gum should not be brought to school or packed in lunchboxes. Please ensure that students are not chewing gum or sharing their gum with others. We do not share food for safety and different medical needs.

Black History Month

This February, we are proud to celebrate Black History Month by honoring the achievements and lasting impact of influential Black leaders, artists, and change-makers. Throughout the month, our news segments will highlight important figures each day who have made lasting contributions to history and culture. Students will learn about how these individuals shaped history through music, literature, athletics, activism, and the arts, and how their contributions continue to inspire our world today. We look forward to sharing this meaningful celebration of culture, creativity, and history with our school community.

Pride Expectations

PRIDE Expectations with PBIS!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
