Principal's Message

Happy New Year Layer Families! We hope you and your family enjoyed your Winter Break! We're looking forward to seeing all of our students back on Tuesday, January 6th!

As we begin a new calendar year, we will continue to reflect and grow together for student achievement! Our teachers and staff are utilizing recent data to determine what each student needs. In addition, we want learning to be fun and we want each classroom to continue to build connections as a community. Most importantly, our goal is to prioritize keeping all students "happy" and "safe" each day!

Please know that our team is here to support! Let us know what questions, insight, or feedback you have!

Layer Family Conflict Resolution Challenge Calendar

Layer Elementary continues to work during PRIDE time to build self regulation and self- management techniques together daily as class communities. We have found that when we are regulated, we are ready to learn! 

HERE is a gentle daily guide to help your family practice how to regulate emotions and possible conflict resolutions. Each day offers a short, activity designed for mindful moments, reflection, and connection. A copy will also be going home this week!

Attendance Matters!

Please send in your excuse notes for absences or tardies to LRES_attendance@myscps.us or log into your Family Skyward account. Please be sure your doctor's & excuse notes are in within two weeks of the absence so they can be entered properly! Excuse notes need to explain the family emergency or if your child is sick to be excused. After 10 written/emailed parent notes, doctor notes are required.

Pride Expectations

PRIDE Expectations with PBIS!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
