Principal's Message

Happy Holidays! As we wrap up 2025, we are pleased to see how much growth our students are making! Our students work incredibly hard to achieve each day and their needs are met through our various learning structures! Our teachers and staff have been intentional with the planning so that we differentiate instruction, develop collaborative opportunities, and create positive classroom environments!

Thank you for sharing your students with us each day! We truly hope that you enjoy your time as a family over winter break! Creating memories together and spending time with those we love is a wonderful thing! Please be sure to check out our Facebook page for pictures of the MANY celebrations and special events that have occured in December on campus as well!

Our Layer offices will be closed from December 20-January 4. We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces on Tuesday, January 6 when we begin the second half of the year!

The Adventure Awaits!

Layer Reading and Math Support

Our Instructional Coaches shared great information about our "walk-to" model for differentiated support in Math and in Reading at our December SAC meeting.

HERE is the presentation that was shared. If you have questions about student learning, please contact your teacher or our coaches (Mrs. Rebecca Holcomb and Mrs. Heather Mahon-Richards).

Attendance Matters!

Please send in your excuse notes for absences or tardies to LRES_attendance@myscps.us or log into your Family Skyward account. Please be sure your doctor's & excuse notes are in within two weeks of the absence so they can be entered properly! Excuse notes need to explain the family emergency or if your child is sick to be excused. After 10 written/emailed parent notes, doctor notes are required.

Pride Expectations

PRIDE Expectations with PBIS!

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
